Funny story here. Not Funny HAHA, the other kind. So...this 1 Owner/No Accident, VERY well serviced (21 service history records on CARFAX alone) 1997 Saturn SL with just 97K miles was purchased to be able to provide someone with an excellent car for$3,500 after getting serviced, inspected and repaired in our AAA approved shop. So we did what we do, identify needed services and repairs and perfom them. We re-upholstered the Headliner. We replaced the VALVE COVER GASKET, the SPARK PLUGS and changed the OIL and FILTER. On the advise of our Local Chemical Products Rep we put in an Engine Oil Cleaner and Conditioner prior to the OIL CHANGE just to ''give the motor a thorough cleaning''. ''You will be amazed at the difference''. Well it ran great before and it still does. However, apparently the cleaning was so thorough it dissolved/and decarboned TOO thoroughly. Now it smokes. So even though it may very well last another 100,000 miles and more (with regular oil changes of course), it will very likely continue to smoke and may need a little oil added between changes. So if you can live with a little tailpipe smoke in exchange for a bargain price, here you go!
